A couple of years ago we started a community garden on one of our parishioners’ land located in Belleville. We grew Tomatoes, corn, beans, pumpkins and okra just to name a few item. We found this to be a great resource of help to many families that don’t have the resources to purchase fresh vegetable in our community. This year the garden was expanded to a haft an acres to grow more tomatoes and corn. Next year we want to expand the garden even larger to enlarge our folds.
To do this we need your help. Here is a list of what you can do.
- We need to clear land and remove some trees and small brush.
- We need finances to purchase seeds. ( our pastor has done this part on his own the last couple of years, time to help out)
- Workers to help in planting in the spring. (got a youth group or, do you like to work in the soil
- Canning supplies. (We can use some of the leftovers to help our staff, and workers thought-out the year)
